All this talk of entitlement by congressional conservatives strikes me as being disengenious. The drafted schedule of work days by PAID GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES should not be set by them. All this hype about how government should run like a business...who lets the workforce set the schedule. Collective bargaining is bad for biz but....the nations biz held hostage by people who dont even bargain for THEIR OWN ENTITLEMENTS? they set their pay. they get the best health plans. Their pensions are never robbed-sorry, "harvested". They set their own agenda and workdays. They plan the work OUR WORK around their own personal agendas of elections and lobb jobs and insider trading. I for one have had enuff. I fight like hell to stay employed and scrape a living and these guys SPIT in our faces. And we pay their salary. This must change. Using their own rhetoric against them we cannot afford these freeloading moochers to continue driving our national biz into the ground. All we need to do is pull a romney on congress and take it over. Ok, that's just so much hyperbole but you get my point.
my suggestion. 10 hrs a day, 4 days a week, 12 weeks per quarter. Campaign on your own. Either video conference your district from Washington or to there for meetings. Health plans revert to the same plan all other government employees have. Wages set by the CBO based on avg middle income or military colonels pay plus a voucher paid to the landlord for housing JUST LIKE THE MILITARY.
Well, there it is, my current rant. I just find it incredibely ironic that congressional loudmouths tout cutting everything to th bone and cant see that they are in the VERY CATEGORY OF SELF ENTITLED LEECHES WHO ARE ROBBING US....while accusing us of being lazy bums and thieves. Place congress on a chart and compare it to every other entitlement the gop wants to cut. what us the opportunity cost for allowing them to milk us dry. How do they compare in areas of efficiency, lor effectiveness or savings or safety or quality or any other biz criteria? Put it all on the table? Sure...climb your lazy mooching asses up there and get in the table with everyone else you decided to include in your austere world of bean counting myopia.
BTW....new deal coming. youre outnumbered soooo....heres a good philisophy for electability and governing in the new century.
